Will your health insurance cover you for orthotics?

Orthotics play a role in the treatment of many patients in Podiatry. They can be used to help recover from current injuries or to reduce the risk of future injuries. Orthotics are one of the more expensive podiatry items, so many patients want to know if they are covered for some of this cost.

Your level of cover and health insurance provider both factor into the rebate they offer. Here at Active Care Podiatry we quote each foot individually as many health funds offer better rebate. If you are interested in finding out how much your insurance will pay, quote them the following codes.

  • 2x F221 @ $210 = $420

Just remember there are other costs associated with orthotics (such as the cast) that will use some of your podiatry allowance. If you have any foot conditions our podiatrists can help, call our clinic at (07) 3823 5423 to book an appointment.
