It’s completely normal for babies and toddlers to have flat feet. In fact, most children don’t develop visible arches until around age 6-8.
But how do you know when flat feet may need attention?
Signs it’s time to see a podiatrist:
• Your child complains of foot, ankle, or leg pain
• They avoid physical activity because of discomfort
• Frequent tripping or poor balance
• Uneven shoe wear
• One foot looks different than the other
In many cases, paediatric flat feet don’t require treatment. But when symptoms are present, early evaluation can prevent long-term issues and keep your child active and confident.
