Lower Back Pain and the Foot

Lower back pain related to the feet is often described as “A generalized ache across the lower back which is aggravated by long periods of standing in the one position.”

When the feet roll in excessively (over pronate) the alignment of the entire leg, hips and lower back is affected. This strains the muscles of the lower back as they attempt to maintain a normal back posture.

How do you know if you have mechanical foot issues such as over pronation? We recommend having a video gait analysis completed to get an accurate diagnosis. From there, we may recommend some treatment options such as orthotics which help to control excessive pronation and help maintain an effective back posture. Contact us to schedule a gait analysis and get rid of your lower back pain once and for all.
